ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Federal Board of Revenue said it will investigate the assets of national cricketers, Jang reported September 6. The news comes after a match-fixing scam in England.
The board has directed its regional officers to gather the details of bank accounts, assets and the number of cars owned by the national cricketers who played during the last five years, Jang reported, citing tax officials.
A senior FBR official, Israr Rauf, said the board will ask the Pakistan Cricket Board to present its expenses and payments to the players, selectors, coaches and managers, the newspaper reported.
