Chinese troops head to Kazakhstan for SCO exercises

ZHURIHE, Inner Mongolia– A trainload of Chinese troops departed August 31 for Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) exercises in Kazakhstan, Xinhua reported. They are scheduled to arrive September 7.
The troops are participating in Peace Mission 2010, an anti-terrorist exercise scheduled for September 9-25 on the Matybulak testing grounds in Zhambyl Oblast. More than 5,000 troops from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan are slated to participate.
