KABUL -- Afghan Taliban stoned to death a man and a woman accused of having an affair.
The 23-year-old woman and 28-year-old man were killed because “they had an affair,” said Muhammad Ayob, district governor of Imam Sahib in Kunduz province, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported.
“They were stoned to death in Mullah Quli village, which is under the control of Taliban,” he said. An eyewitness said about 100 people — mostly Taliban insurgents — gathered August 15 to hear the alleged confession, RFE/RL reported.
The Taliban earlier this month publically beat and killed a pregnant widow in western Afghanistan for allegedly committing adultery, RFE/RL reported.
