MUZAFFAR ABAD – Sardar Attique Ahmad has been elected the prime minister of Pakistani-administered Kashmir July 29, media reported.
Thirty-nine members of the 49-member legislative assembly voted for Attique, while 10 members abstained.
Attique was removed as prime minister in January 2009 after a no-confidence motion prompted by charges of corruption. Attique succeeds outgoing Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, who resigned three days ago ahead of a no-confidence motion.
