DUSHANBE – Forged Tajik currency from Afghanistan is circulating in Tajikistan, Tajik National Bank chairman Sharif Rahimzoda said July 26, as reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty July 27.
Tajik authorities notified Afghan counterparts of a “secret printing house in Afghanistan” that the Afghans destroyed, Rahimzoda said. No reliable estimate of the amount of counterfeit currency circulating exists, he said.
