Tajik, Afghan agents seized 663kg of drugs in 1st half of 2010

DUSHANBE – The Tajik Drug Control Agency (AKN) seized 663kg of narcotics in 30 joint operations with Afghan law enforcement during the first half of 2010, AKN spokesman Sadullo Rakhmatulloyev told a press-conference July 28.
Those operations also led to the arrest of 36 suspected smugglers. Drugs seized included heroin, raw opium, cannabis and other substances.
The AKN made 491 arrests during that period. Foreign detainees came from the CIS, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Lithuania and elsewhere.
