Telecom chief: 3G to be online soon in Kazakh capitals

ASTANA -- Computerisation and Communication Agency director Kuanyshbek Esekeev said March 1 that 3G networks will start operating in the next half-year in Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan Today reported.
Kazakhstan lags behind Tajikistan, which introduced its 3G networks in 2005. Kazakhstan has some of the world’s highest rates for telecom service.
