KAZAKHSTAN - The second round of the 17th Kazakh Men’s National League volleyball championship will be held from Dec. 9 to 13 in Khromtau. This year there are five clubs playing in the Superleague: Kondensat from the Urals, Kazkhrom from Khromtau, Yesil from Petropavlovsk, and also Almaty and Atyrau. Kazkhrom are newcomers to the league after earning their place by winning last year's premier league championship. Almaty was in pole position at the end of the first round played in early November.

“Of course we’re aiming to win, but Kondensat and Atyrau will be pushing us hard all the way,” said Almaty’s chief coach Nikolai Ragozin. The teams in the National League will play in a round-robin tournament in the cities of the participating teams. The four highest-ranked teams will then go on to battle it out for the title of national champions in a play-off series in April.
